Chefchaouen

Blue Streets

The main reason to visit Chefchaouen is the beautiful streets filled with various blue-painted houses, as mentioned above. There are many theories as to why the walls are blue. Some say there are practical reasons, such as keeping mosquitoes away or the house cool. No matter which theory is true but the view is seeing worthy.

Spanish Mosque 

It is a beautiful building situated on a hill above Chefchaouen and gives pure feelings of love and serenity. This mosque was built in the 1920s during the war. However, it has never been used and is now in ruins overlooking the city. It’s a simple hike. A 30-minute hike to the summit offers stunning views.

Kasbah Museum

On the main square is the ancient Moroccan fortress Kasbah. The building has served many purposes for centuries, especially as a prison, and is now an ethnological museum and art gallery. A beautiful Spanish-style garden is also inside, offering a nice and quiet area away from the city.
